Transitions can feel uncertain, but they can also become the beginning of a more intentional path forward
Meet Dr. Ruzicka
A Personal Note
Like many parents, I know that divorce is not just a legal process—it is a deeply personal transition that affects every part of family life. When I went through my own divorce, one of my greatest concerns was how the decisions being made in the moment could impact my children’s future, especially as they approached important milestones like college. That experience gave me a deeper understanding of the emotional and practical challenges families face during this time. It also reinforced my belief that even during difficult transitions, parents can make thoughtful decisions that support their children’s stability, opportunities, and long-term success.
Dr. Jessica Ruzicka is the founder of Soluna Via, where she helps families navigate one of life’s most complex transitions divorce while keeping their child’s future firmly in focus.
With more than 25 years of experience working with students and families in college admissions, financial aid, academic advising, and career development, Jessica has guided thousands of families through the important decisions that shape a student’s educational path. Her career has spanned multiple areas of higher education, including admissions, financial aid, student services, and college counseling, giving her a comprehensive understanding of the college planning process and the opportunities available to students.
Today, as a Certified Divorce Coach, Jessica brings this extensive background into her work with families navigating separation and divorce—particularly when children are approaching important educational milestones like college. Through Soluna Via, she helps parents step back from the immediate stress of the transition and consider the long-term decisions that can influence their child’s opportunities and stability in the years ahead.
Jessica’s work is also deeply informed by her own experience navigating divorce and rebuilding family life during a time of significant change. Like many parents, she faced the emotional complexity of making difficult decisions while still wanting to protect her children’s stability and future opportunities. That experience gave her a deeper understanding of the challenges families face during this transition and strengthened her belief that even in difficult seasons, families can move forward with clarity and intention.
At Soluna, Jessica provides a supportive and thoughtful space for parents to reflect, plan, and make informed decisions during the divorce process. While she does not replace legal or financial professionals, her role is to help families think through the broader impact of the choices they are making—especially when it comes to future planning and college opportunities for their children.
Jessica holds a Doctorate in Education, along with advanced training in college and career advising. She is also a Certified Divorce Coach through the Divorce Coaches Academy, where she studied conflict resolution, communication, and the legal and emotional dynamics of divorce.
Her approach blends compassionate guidance with practical strategy, helping parents navigate difficult conversations, understand future considerations, and remain focused on what matters most: the well-being and opportunities of their children.
Jessica believes that while divorce may change the structure of a family, it does not have to limit the future that family can build.
Through Soluna Via, she is committed to helping parents move through this transition with greater clarity, confidence, and a shared focus on their child’s future.
We can help.
